Sometimes I know I do take too much from you and me built to live between certain truth it’s how I made you. Best to take you. Spark of reticence, the torch to bear, and the creak of my finger by your ear. Bring me in, have me get to know what it is you’ve hidden here. You keep the world so far, am I wrong so near? Moments revealed weary, you always breathe into me special face escape me again. This stillness (de facto) Why should you ever know? How could you ever know why I’d give every pore? I’m never this curious, I’m never this sure, but here you are, engulfed, and I have you. Touch refracts, beauty wills. The blade set in, and I bled and bled like I knew I would, like I knew I would I see the red, it feels so wet, but the sword is dull.

It’s astounding, All I ever allowed in love is restraint And words unsaid. But you’re so fleeting, and I don’t think you’d let yourself feel my words. Although you beg, anxieties wash me away. Dignity it feels so far, but I hate what’s close.
3.
Some fly too high, I aimed Just fine. When I hit ground, I got my head so hard. In the blur I found compensation— Dizzying fun, and pain for a lesson all to tell you. I feel a hard step winning. It’s like the splitting of the skin, the unwinding of a vein I never knew my eyes were so dark. It’s early emphasizing, but would you have me still wishing for my little life to only make sense when you are undressed? Eggshells for eyelids, nothing got past you I could only dim the lights, bring you water. All of your sorrys, glories, and such I think we trick each other with a suspense we know goes nowhere. I feel a hard step winning It’s like the splitting of the skin, the unwinding of a vein I never knew my eyes were so dark. Someone loves to fill a void; graves get filled all the time. Be the reaper, after all, you’re no deceiver

Every Reason 04:46
You were afraid you had tricked me, you were afraid I’d been underwhelmed. You wanted any good opinion, so I gave you my weaknesses. Funny to think of ourselves as prisoners of caution, what a cockring could do for us now. Sorry for making mine yours. I’m sorry for making time yours. It was an upside down mountain we were climbing, and didn’t you have every reason to paint your glass houses? I’ll allow for some jealousy in our hearts Admit it’s what keeps us paying attention. I wouldn’t know how to feel good if I didn’t have a mean spirit to repair. Sorry for making mine yours. I’m sorry for making time yours. I know I slipped over your intentions, but didn’t I have every reason to think you were needing interpretation?

about

"Four songs that showcase the range of songwriting and musicianship of Sheridan Riley and her steady collaborator Dylan Wood... There is a lot of lyrical, personal, and musical data packed into these four songs, as well as some excellent guitar work. Peg is a difficult band to classify – the influences range from 1970s California folk-rock to punk / noise. The pulse is quick, even when Riley is singing a 'slower' song like 'Dignity (What’s Close)'. And it’s a very cool trick when a band can shoehorn all of these elements into a 3-4 minute long song. Actually, it’s pretty daring- but in this case brilliantly performed."
- Nat Lyon, Louder Than War

"Fade into the light and disappear through the fog, Peg’s latest collection of psychedelic dream rock is required listening. Sheridan Riley of Avi Buffalo fame creates a unique sonic daydream with the perfect amount of musical minimalism. A scrapbook of poetic beauty and distortion... The delicate and bittersweet melodies are exceptional with traces of Azure Ray, Mazzy Star and a discreet rumble reminiscent of the Breeders Pod album. The finale of this subtle ethereal detonation is simply brilliant. 'Every Reason' is my pick for non-stop single rotation on indie stations across the planet. The gravity of romance and the pain of breaking-up collide in an unforgettable chorus. The surreal vocals whirl within the corrupt air of apathy and distrust. The orchestration hums with tense whispers and burning guitar heaviness. Confusion, regret, and sincerity are just as vital as guitar, bass, and drums in the universe of Peg."
